The head of the EU Election Observation Mission, Nathalie Loiseau, has praised the February 9 elections in Kosovo, describing the process as peaceful and well-organized.

Speaking at a press conference, Loiseau highlighted that Kosovar citizens demonstrated a strong commitment to democracy by participating in these elections, the first held after a full parliamentary mandate under the new Election Law.

“On Sunday, the citizens of Kosovo exercised their right to vote. I congratulate all voters who took part in these historic elections, the first under the new Election Law, which incorporates many of the EU’s previous recommendations.”

Loiseau emphasized that election day proceeded smoothly, with voters casting their ballots in good conditions, thanks to the dedication of polling station staff.

“These are clear signs that the people of Kosovo are committed to democracy. I would like to thank the EU Office in Kosovo and the EU Delegation for their strong cooperation and support,” she stated.

Kosovo’s elections mark a key step in strengthening democratic processes, with EU observers closely monitoring the implementation of new electoral regulations.
