Kosovo’s ruling party is on track to win Sunday’s parliamentary elections, but it will need a coalition to form a government, according to an Exit Poll, reports Reuters.
The result marks a decline from the more than 50% that Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s party secured in 2021. However, it still places him in a leading position to form the next government in a country where politics are largely shaped by relations with Serbia and the Serb minority within Kosovo.
Kurti Ruled Out Coalition Before Elections
During the campaign, Kurti appeared to rule out forming a coalition, stating that he would not join the government unless his party secured more than 50% of the vote.
