Kosovo Embassy in Sweden Celebrates Liberation Day with Music and Art Exhibition

The Embassy of Kosovo in Sweden hosted a solemn reception at the Historical Museum of Stockholm on Thursday to commemorate Liberation Day (June 12).

According to the embassy’s announcement, the event brought together a wide array of guests in a warm and festive atmosphere. Attendees included foreign ambassadors and diplomats accredited in Sweden, representatives of Swedish institutions, international organizations, civil society, the Albanian community, academia, and the business sector.

Ambassador Shkendije Geci delivered a speech emphasizing that June 12 is a day of victory for freedom and hope for the people of Kosovo. She highlighted it as a historical turning point marking the end of an era of oppression and the beginning of building a free, democratic state committed to peace and justice.

The embassy added that the artistic program was enriched by emotional performances from Ardita Ukaj and Merve Abdurrahmani. Additionally, an exhibition of paintings by artist Arjeta Mala evoked deep feelings about historical memory and cultural identity.
