Kosovo is increasingly consolidating its position as a strategic partner in the international security architecture, according to presidential adviser Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, who described President Vjosa Osmani’s participation in the inaugural meeting of the Peace Board in Washington, D.C. as a historic moment for the country.
In comments given to media, Kadaj-Bujupi said the event marks a new chapter in the international consolidation of Kosovo as a state and reflects the growing recognition of its role in global peace and security processes.
According to her, Osmani’s participation in the forum represents the affirmation of Kosovo’s state subjectivity on the global stage, as well as an increase in its influence within international discussions on stability and cooperation.
Kadaj-Bujupi emphasized that the invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump demonstrates rising international confidence in Kosovo and recognition of Osmani’s leadership in international diplomacy.
“This participation is a direct acknowledgment of Kosovo’s constructive role as a factor of stability and security in the region,” she said, adding that the country contributes to peace and cooperation rather than tensions.
She further noted that through this global platform, Kosovo aims to present its strategic interests, national priorities, and firm Euro-Atlantic orientation, while strengthening diplomatic dialogue with international partners.
Kadaj-Bujupi also highlighted that the forum could open new opportunities for engagement with countries that have not yet recognized Kosovo, potentially paving the way for further diplomatic progress.
According to her, participation in such initiatives strengthens Kosovo’s international standing amid regional challenges, boosts political and diplomatic support, and positively impacts the country’s global image as a responsible contributor to peace and stability.
Addressing questions about the possibility of another presidential mandate for Osmani, Kadaj-Bujupi stated that the president continues to maintain strong and constructive cooperation with the government, while the current focus remains on representing Kosovo internationally and achieving tangible results.
“The message to citizens is clear: despite its geographic size, Kosovo is treated with respect, dignity, and equality at the most important international decision-making tables,” she concluded.
