Kosovo footballers Meriton Korenica and Lindon Emërllahu have written their names in the history of the Romanian club Cluj by winning the Romanian Cup.

In the dramatic final held on Wednesday evening, Cluj triumphed over Hermannstadt with a narrow 3-2 scoreline, in a match where Korenica played a special role. The 28-year-old midfielder assisted masterfully in the team’s first goal, perfectly setting up forward Mohammed Kamara, who broke the deadlock in the 15th minute.

Korenica was substituted in the 82nd minute after a solid performance, while 22-year-old Emërllahu, who joined Cluj in February this year, played the entire match and helped manage the result.

This is the first trophy for the Kosovo duo in Romanian football, and they are now showing their worth in one of the most competitive leagues in the region.
