The Government of Kosovo is set to convene on Friday to review a draft law introducing temporary measures for basic products in cases of market destabilization.

According to the official announcement, the meeting scheduled to begin at 09:30 will include a total of 16 agenda items, with the proposed legislation on essential goods among the key topics.

The draft aims to regulate prices of basic products during extraordinary market conditions, a move that follows growing concerns over price fluctuations and cost of living pressures.

A previous attempt to introduce similar price cap measures was struck down by the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, raising questions about the legal framework and how the new proposal will address past concerns.

The outcome of Friday’s meeting is expected to provide more clarity on the government’s approach to market intervention and consumer protection.
