The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kosovo has reported that 84.24% of registered diaspora voters who were eligible to vote at diplomatic missions abroad exercised their right to vote.
“From voting outside Kosovo, specifically at 29 diplomatic representations, out of 19,187 registered citizens, 16,165 voted, corresponding to 84.24% participation,” said CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi during a press conference.
Regarding postal voting, approximately 58,000 registered voters were eligible. Final numbers of returned postal ballots are not yet available, as they will be confirmed after the collection process from postal boxes concludes. Preliminary data indicate that from two postal boxes in Berlin and Bern, 18,000 presumed ballot packages have already been retrieved.
Elezi also explained that the same verification process will take place in 38 Municipal Counting Centers, where work will proceed in two shifts to verify votes for parliamentary candidates.
Additionally, this year, 2,860 persons with special needs were registered to vote. According to preliminary data, out of 57 special polling stations in 38 municipalities, over 9,900 voters have been registered to vote under special circumstances.
