President Vjosa Osmani and accredited ambassadors in Kosovo will pay tribute today at the grave of Kosovo’s historic leader, President Ibrahim Rugova, marking the 19th anniversary of his passing, as reported by Reporteri.net.

The tributes will begin at 9:00 AM at Rugova’s grave in Velania, Pristina. This will be followed by a Commemorative Ceremony at 11:00 AM, organized by the Office of the President.

The ceremony will also feature the opening of a photo exhibition dedicated to President Rugova, curated by photographer Hazir Reka.

The statement from the Presidency reads:

“On the 19th anniversary of the death of the historic President, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, a series of activities will take place under the organization of President Vjosa Osmani. At 9:00 AM, President Osmani and ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Kosovo will pay homage at President Rugova’s grave in Velania. At 11:00 AM, the Commemorative Ceremony will take place, followed by the opening of a photo exhibition of President Rugova by photographer Hazir Reka.”

This day serves as a solemn reminder of Rugova’s pivotal role in leading Kosovo during its peaceful resistance and laying the groundwork for its statehood.
