Pristina is currently hosting the European Youth Card Association (EYCA) International Conference, organized by Kosovo’s Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports in collaboration with EYCA.
On the first day of the two-day conference, acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti expressed honor that Kosovo is hosting this event for the first time. “EYCA has an inspiring mission: to empower young people through real opportunities for mobility, experience, and social inclusion,” Kurti stated. “The European Youth Card Association is not just a card offering discounts – it is a tool for mobility, education, and active participation, based on a powerful idea: that young people should have real opportunities, not just promises.”
Strengthening Youth Policy and Cooperation
Over 100 participants from 37 countries have gathered in Kosovo’s capital for the conference. Kurti highlighted that the event aims to “strengthen cooperation between institutions, organizations, and actors who influence the lives of young people, by discussing many new ideas, exchanging best practices, and inspiring each other to draft fairer and more youth-sensitive policies.”
Kosovo officially became an EYCA member in December 2023. In its first six months of membership, nearly 8,000 young people have registered for the program, and 18 businesses have partnered with it. Through this card, young people from Kosovo can benefit from discounts in transport, education, culture, sports, accommodation, and many other services in over 35 European countries, with more than 70,000 different benefits available.
