On Monday, June 2, Kosovo will officially launch the International Forum on Women, Peace, and Security, under the patronage of President Vjosa Osmani.
The two-day forum aims to bring global attention to the role of women in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and security policy-making.
According to organizers, the event will feature over 30 panel discussions, with more than 150 speakers representing over 45 countries. The forum will serve as a platform for policymakers, civil society leaders, activists, and international institutions to exchange experiences and strategies for promoting gender equality in peace and security frameworks.
A Global Stage for Gender-Inclusive Peacebuilding
This forum marks one of the largest international gatherings hosted in Kosovo focused on women’s leadership in global peace processes. Key topics will include the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, gender-based violence in conflict zones, and strategies to enhance women’s participation in peace negotiations and post-conflict reconstruction.
President Osmani is expected to deliver the opening remarks, reaffirming Kosovo’s commitment to advancing gender equality both domestically and on the international stage.
