According to the data of the statistics institute INSTAT, in May of this year, Albania realized with the countries of the region, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina about 10.5 percent of the trade volume, which includes imports and exports.
The panorama with these countries is different, as Kosovo is the main export partner and the country where we have the largest positive balance with +2.7 billion lek [26.5 million euros], while the opposite, from Serbia we receive more imports and have the largest deficit large merchant with -645 million ALL. With North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania has a trade surplus.
“Scan Intel” has analyzed the data to understand how the trade relationship between the countries of the region has changed. According to the figures, Albania has increased its exports in value only with North Macedonia and Kosovo, with which it exchanged 3.8 billion ALL and 1.3 billion ALL, while in all other countries of the region the value of exports has decreased. This decrease is found at 30.1 percent in Bosnia-Herzegovina, 35.2% in Montenegro and 11.2% in Serbia.
As for the value of imports, Albania has strengthened relations only with Kosovo, from which we received 1.15 billion ALL of goods or 9.1 percent more than a year ago, while with other countries the value of imports has decreased from 11.4 percent with Montenegro up to 32.9 percent with Serbia. As for the imports in value, it turns out that Serbia is the main source for our country, as only in May of the current year we imported 1.8 billion ALL of goods.
