Kosovo has been invited to join the newly established Board of Peace, a global initiative led by U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at advancing peace efforts, initially focused on the Gaza conflict.
Following the invitation, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama congratulated Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, describing the gesture as a significant acknowledgment of Kosovo’s role in international diplomacy. In a message posted on social media, Rama emphasized the importance of recognizing the invitation as a signal of strengthened U.S.-Kosovo relations and urged local political actors to value the opportunity.
“Congratulations, Madam President, on receiving this invitation to join the Board of Peace, a deeply meaningful gesture by President Trump toward Kosovo, which further strengthens America’s friendship with the Albanian people. I trust that Kosovo’s political actors will appreciate this outstretched hand from the U.S. President, as it also reflects respect for your personal role on the international stage,” Rama wrote.
President Osmani underlined Kosovo’s commitment to peace and its steadfast alliance with the United States. “Just as America brought peace to Kosovo, today Kosovo stands as a firm ally ready to further the cause of peace. History remembers those who take courageous steps toward building peace — and we are ready,” she said.
The White House has reportedly extended invitations to multiple countries worldwide to participate in the Board of Peace, reflecting Kosovo’s increasing visibility in international diplomacy.
