The acting Chief State Prosecutor, Besim Kelmendi, and the Director General of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, held a meeting with chief prosecutors and directors of police investigation units to intensify the joint fight against loan sharking in Kosovo.
A “Serious Threat” to the Rule of Law
During the meeting, officials emphasized that the criminal act of loan sharking poses a “serious threat to the rule of law and the well-being of citizens.” They committed to a determined investigation and prosecution of criminal groups involved in this activity.
The attendees also confirmed their full institutional dedication to freezing and seizing assets illegally obtained through loan sharking and other criminal activities. This coordinated effort is aimed at confronting the illegal activity with a strategic and resolute approach from all law enforcement institutions.
