Kosovo’s state and political leaders gathered in Koshare today to pay tribute to the fallen fighters on the 27th anniversary of the Battle of Koshare, one of the most significant and intense battles of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) war.
At the memorial site, acting President Albulena Haxhiu led the commemorations, accompanied by members of the government cabinet. Numerous citizens, family members of the fallen, and former fighters also attended the ceremony.
Among those paying homage were former President Vjosa Osmani, Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) leader Lumir Abdixhiku, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) representative Ramush Haradinaj, and Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) leader Ali Ahmeti.
Representatives of the Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans’ Organization (OVL-UÇK) also took part in the commemorative activities.
The annual gathering in Koshare serves as a moment of remembrance and unity, honoring those who sacrificed their lives during one of the most defining battles of the Kosovo war.
