The Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans Organization (OVL-UÇK) has submitted 285 formal letters addressed to each member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), expressing deep concerns over the ongoing trials of former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders at the Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

The letters were hand-delivered during a major protest held today in Strasbourg, France, where around 6,000 Albanians from across the world gathered to demand justice for those they consider war heroes.

“The latest protest against injustice was held today in Strasbourg. During the event, we delivered 285 letters to each member of the Council of Europe Assembly, expressing our concerns about the process at the Specialist Chambers,” the OVL-UÇK stated in its announcement.
“The OVL-UÇK remains committed to justice and the protection of the rights of freedom fighters.”

This demonstration marks the fourth major protest of its kind, following previous gatherings in Prishtina, The Hague, and Tirana, all aimed at raising awareness of what supporters see as politically motivated trials against Kosovo’s wartime leadership.

Many of the protestors waved Albanian flags and carried banners declaring “Justice for the Liberators”, underscoring their belief that the proceedings at The Hague are unfair and biased.

The trials, which include prominent figures like former President Hashim Thaçi, have drawn significant attention and criticism, particularly among the Albanian diaspora.
