Acting Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi today hosted the Ambassador of Luxembourg to Kosovo, Eric Dietz, along with the Director of the Department for Bilateral Cooperation, René Lauer, from the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Among the topics discussed during the meeting, the Prime Minister’s Office announced that they also addressed a new bilateral agreement under which the Government of Luxembourg has increased its financial commitment to Kosovo to €50 million, up from the €35 million allocated for the 2023-2026 period.
“This agreement, for the years 2026-2030, is expected to be signed at the tenth bilateral meeting to be held in Luxembourg during July of this year,” the announcement stated.
“This agreement, like the previous one, aims to contribute to the strengthening of public administration, the development of human capital, and the building of a sustainable society. Meanwhile, the priority areas of cooperation will be: education, healthcare, innovation, digitalization, cybersecurity, as well as other fields of strategic importance for the country’s development. In the coming months, the institutions will work on identifying projects and detailing them,” the PMO said.
Bislimi thanked the Ambassador and the state of Luxembourg for their cooperation and continuous support provided to Kosovo over the years.
He emphasized the importance of this partnership in strengthening institutions and advancing reforms for sustainable development.
“The Ambassador and the Director of Cooperation expressed their appreciation for the commitment and visible results of Kosovo’s institutions, some of which have been achieved through projects within the framework of bilateral assistance and cooperation. The meeting discussed the importance of further harmonizing priorities and joint projects, with the aim of further deepening bilateral cooperation,” the PMO stated.
