The European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in cooperation with the Association of Women in the Kosovo Police, is organizing a high-level forum titled “From Resolution to Action: 25 Years of Women Transforming Peace and Security in Kosovo.”
This event commemorates the 25th anniversary of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, a landmark document recognizing the crucial role of women in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, and security-sector decision-making.
Among the distinguished participants will be President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, EULEX Head of Mission Giovanni Pietro Barbano, Director General of the Kosovo Police Gazmend Hoxha, and Director General of the Kosovo Correctional Service Ismail Dibrani.
The forum aims to highlight women’s transformative contributions to Kosovo’s post-war recovery and ongoing efforts to build a peaceful, democratic, and inclusive society. Discussions will focus on strengthening women’s leadership in peace and security institutions, ensuring gender equality in decision-making, and enhancing the implementation of Resolution 1325 across all sectors.
President Osmani’s participation underscores Kosovo’s commitment to advancing women’s rights and ensuring that their voices remain central in shaping national and regional stability.
