Today marks the second day of the KLA Epic (Epopeja e UÇK-së), known as the Day of the Martyrs, commemorating those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Kosovo.
On this occasion, tributes and commemorative activities are being organized across the country to honor the fallen fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
The commemorations began early in the morning, as citizens and state leaders paid homage at the Adem Jashari Memorial Complex, the central site dedicated to the legacy of the legendary commander Adem Jashari and his family.
As part of today’s events, the Assembly of Kosovo will open an exhibition titled “Three Days That Changed History,” highlighting the historic events that shaped Kosovo’s struggle for freedom.
Later in the evening, a commemorative academy will be held at 19:00, honoring the sacrifice and legacy of KLA fighters, featuring artistic performances by the Opera of Kosovo and the Kosovo Philharmonic.
The commemorative activities will conclude tomorrow with the final day of the KLA Epic, marked by the traditional “Night of Fires” gathering in Prekaz, where citizens gather to remember the historic resistance and the price of freedom.
