The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora (MFA) of Kosovo has confirmed the arrest of Kosovo citizen Avni Qenaj by Serbian authorities.
In an official statement, the MFA said a verbal note has already been sent to the diplomatic missions of the Quint countries accredited in Serbia, urging the international community to increase vigilance and pressure on Serbian authorities.
The statement also confirmed that the Kosovo Liaison Office in Serbia will formally request permission to visit the arrested individual as soon as the exact location of his detention is verified.
“The Liaison Office has also informed the European Union Delegation in Serbia, requesting enhanced monitoring and full transparency from Serbian authorities regarding the procedures undertaken,” the MFA said.
The ministry reaffirmed its full and ongoing commitment to clarifying all circumstances surrounding the case and assured the public that updates will be provided promptly and continuously.
