The Kosovo Police announced that, in close cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Prishtina, a large joint crisis-response exercise will be held today from 15:00 to 21:00 in the capital, including the area surrounding the U.S. Embassy located in the Arbëria neighborhood.
According to the statement, the joint drills between the Kosovo Police and the U.S. Embassy are “an indication of the continued strengthening of security cooperation and readiness to manage and respond to emergency situations or any potential incident in Kosovo.”
The exercise aims to test reaction time, operational effectiveness, equipment efficiency, and communication and coordination between relevant units and institutions during emergencies, ensuring a safe environment for citizens, diplomatic staff, and Kosovo’s institutions.
The training will involve an increased presence of Kosovo Police units, U.S. Embassy security personnel, and heightened use of police equipment such as loudspeakers, sirens, and various logistical tools.
Authorities emphasized that this is solely a planned exercise, not a police response to an actual incident. Citizens—especially drivers—are urged to cooperate and avoid the area around the U.S. Embassy in Prishtina’s Arbëria neighborhood, as some roads will experience temporary traffic closures during the drill.
