Kosovo Police Arrest Serb Suspect in War Crimes Case in Soçanicë, Leposaviq

A Serbian national has been arrested in the village of Soçanicë in the municipality of Leposaviq in northern Kosovo on suspicion of war crimes.

The arrest was carried out by the Kosovo Police War Crimes Unit, according to official confirmation.

Deputy commander of the Kosovo Police for the northern region, Veton Elshani, confirmed the operation, stating that the suspect was immediately transferred to Prishtina for questioning.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the allegations or the identity of the suspect, while the investigation is ongoing.

The case is part of ongoing efforts by Kosovo institutions to investigate and prosecute war crimes committed during the 1998–1999 conflict.
