Kosovo Police Discover Weapons, Ammunition, and Military Equipment in Leposaviq in Two Separate Cases

The Kosovo Police reported that in two separate incidents in Leposaviq, weapons, ammunition, and military equipment were discovered.

Case I
On December 19, 2025, at approximately 22:07, officers from the Rapid Intervention Unit (NJNSH), while patrolling in the village of Rvatska, Leposaviq Municipality, discovered and seized the following in an uninhabited house:

  • 1 hunting rifle
  • 1 carbine
  • 1 AK-47 type weapon
  • 240 rounds of ammunition
  • 1 pair of binoculars

Following investigative procedures, on December 22, 2025, police officers conducting inspections in the surrounding buildings seized additional items:

  • 1 air rifle
  • Gunpowder mechanism
  • 1 military knife
  • 1 revolver holster

All actions were coordinated with the State Prosecutor, who instructed the initiation of a criminal case for the offense of “Unauthorized possession, control, or ownership of weapons.”

No arrests have been made in this case, which remains under investigation.

Case II
On December 20, 2025, at approximately 06:45, police arrested R.R. (born 1965) after a search of his home in the village of Veacev, Leposaviq Municipality, where the following items were found and seized:

  • 1 hunting rifle
  • 1 semi-automatic rifle
  • 1 hand grenade
  • 2 tromblons, ammunition of various calibers, and other military equipment (bag, jacket, knife, etc.)

By order of the State Prosecutor, following the initiation of the case, the suspect was released under standard procedural measures.
