The Kosovo Police have uncovered a criminal network involved in forging state property documents, following several months of intensive investigation.
According to the official police statement, the Document Forgery Investigation Unit, operating under the Directorate for Economic Crimes and Corruption, and acting on the authorization of the State Prosecutor from the Basic Prosecution in Pristina, successfully documented illegal activities related to the falsification of state-owned property records managed by the Kosovo Privatization Agency (KPA).
Forgery Used to Steal and Sell State Properties
Investigators revealed that forged property documents were used to illegally transfer ownership of state assets into private hands. These properties were then sold, generating large sums of illicit profit.
On November 1, 2025, police executed court-ordered searches in two regions of Kosovo, raiding one house, three apartments, and two garages linked to the main suspect.
Evidence and Items Seized
During the operation, police seized multiple items of evidentiary value, including:
- Property and sale-purchase contracts
- Land registry documents
- Serbian-language property files
- Incomplete papers from the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY)
- Forgery equipment such as five vintage typewriters and a “Paper Trimmer” device
- A Zaragio handgun with 103 rounds of ammunition
- An iPhone 17 Pro, a Rolex wristwatch, and a Rolex bracelet
Suspect Arrested, Investigation Expands
The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, is under investigation for several criminal offenses, including document forgery, legalization of false content, fraud, and unauthorized possession of weapons.
He was interviewed in the presence of his attorney and has been placed in 48-hour police detention by order of the State Prosecutor. Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify possible accomplices within the network.
Police: Zero Tolerance for Corruption and Misuse of Public Assets
In its statement, the Kosovo Police reaffirmed their commitment to fighting economic crime, corruption, and abuse of public property, ensuring transparency, accountability, and the rule of law across all institutions.
“The Kosovo Police, in cooperation with the justice system, remain committed to combating all forms of economic crime and corruption, guaranteeing legality and accountability to the citizens and institutions of the Republic of Kosovo,” the statement concluded.
