Kosovo Police successfully completed a major operation, code-named “Shpërndarësi,” targeting drug trafficking and criminal activities. The operation, conducted in several cities across Kosovo, resulted in the confiscation of substantial quantities of narcotics, weapons, and vehicles used in criminal acts.
Operation Details
The operation followed a months-long investigation by the Anti-Drug Trafficking Unit (DHTN) in Pristina, in close coordination with the Serious Crimes Prosecutor’s Office.
- Case 1: On the Pristina-Ferizaj highway, a Mercedes was stopped. Its driver (identified as Sh.S.) was found in possession of a bag containing 5.35 grams of cocaine.
- Case 2: On “Vicanum” Street, an Audi Q8 driven by a suspect (Xh.S.) was intercepted, revealing 21 packages of cocaine (20.1 grams). Another vehicle, a gray Volvo, was also stopped, and its driver (F.S.) was detained.
Seized Items
Raids conducted on “Dëshmorët e Marecit” Street in Pristina and a garage in Suhodoll, Lipjan, yielded the following:
- Narcotics: 219 cocaine packages (114.4 grams) and an additional 171.5 grams in separate packaging.
- Weapons: Two handguns with ammunition and one F1 hand grenade.
- Vehicles: Three cars used for hiding and distributing drugs (Audi Q8, Mercedes, and Phaeton).
- Suspected Attempted Murder Vehicle: A blue Golf 7, hidden in a Suhodoll garage.
- Cash and Devices: €7,900, $100, four mobile phones, and DVR equipment.
The confiscated cocaine, estimated to have a street value of €30,000, was intended for distribution.
Legal Proceedings
The Serious Crimes Prosecutor’s Office has opened a criminal case against the suspects for unauthorized purchase, possession, distribution, and sale of narcotics, as well as unauthorized possession of weapons.
The detained individuals have been placed in custody for 48 hours while investigations continue.
