The opening ceremony was attended by Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla, IPK Chief Executive Kushtrim Hodaj, Mayor of Mitrovica Erden Atiq, and senior officials from the Civil Registration Agency (ARC), the Kosovo Police, and other institutions.

The new offices are located in the Bosniak Neighborhood, on “Çlirimi” Street, within the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In their remarks, officials emphasized that this move represents a major advancement in enhancing IPK’s operational capacity. Chief Hodaj expressed gratitude to the Ministry and ARC for their ongoing support in making the project possible.

Acting Minister Sveçla highlighted the importance of the new offices in improving service delivery and reinforcing citizens’ trust in law enforcement. He added that the strengthened presence of IPK in the north contributes to the integrity and credibility of the Kosovo Police, especially in sensitive areas.

IPK has been providing services in North Mitrovica since 2015, operating until now from a rented facility on “King Peter” Street.

The new offices will be open Monday through Friday, from 08:00 to 16:00, and aim to bring greater institutional accessibility to all residents of the region.
