The Kosovo Police, through its Directorate for International Police Cooperation (DBNP–ILECU), has significantly stepped up its international collaboration efforts. According to the Police, these actions demonstrate a high level of professionalism and dedication in the fight against cross-border crime.

Key Achievements in First Half of the Year

In the first six months of the year, the Police announced that a total of 10,835 international pieces of information were exchanged through official communication channels. This includes vital links with INTERPOL, EUROPOL, police liaisons, embassies, and various partner organizations and states in the security field. These exchanges have been instrumental in successfully coordinating police operations and investigations, as reported by Gazeta Online Reporteri.net.

The statistics released today highlight impressive results from this cooperation:

  • 13 internationally wanted individuals were arrested for serious criminal offenses, thanks to collaboration with INTERPOL and EUROPOL.
  • 39 extraditions were successfully carried out. Of these, 15 individuals were extradited from Kosovo to other countries, while 24 others were extradited from partner states to Kosovo.

Strengthening Global Security Role

“The Kosovo Police considers these results as clear evidence of its commitment to law enforcement and its contribution to global security,” the announcement stated. “Furthermore, cooperation with organizations like INTERPOL and EUROPOL further strengthens Kosovo’s integration into the international security network, positioning it as a reliable partner in the fight against international crime.”
