A midnight shootout in the village of Doganaj, Ferizaj, involved an off-duty police officer and another individual, resulting in both being wounded and prompting an urgent investigation by the Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK).
Reliable sources tell Sinjali that the individuals involved in the incident are Argjend Sadriu, a Kosovo Police officer, and Lindon Veseli, approximately 25 years old.
Incident Details and Seizures
The event occurred around 1:00 AM on July 21, 2025, when police were notified of gunfire in the rural area. Preliminary investigations indicate that the exchange of fire involved Officer Sadriu, who was driving his personal BMW, and Veseli, who was in a red Golf 7.
The regional investigation unit and forensics teams intervened at the scene. Due to the involvement of a police officer, the Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) was immediately notified and launched a parallel investigation.
From the scene, authorities seized two firearms: a Glock 19, suspected to be Sadriu’s service weapon, and a Zastava-type weapon, suspected to have been used by Veseli. Additionally, 16 shell casings, a projectile, and both vehicles involved in the incident were confiscated.
Injuries and Ongoing Investigation
Both suspects sustained gunshot wounds and were initially taken to the Ferizaj Emergency Department before being transferred to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK). Doctors report that their lives are not in danger.
The serious crimes prosecutor has authorized investigative actions, and two individuals who were in the police officer’s vehicle have also been questioned as witnesses.
Investigations are still in an intensive phase, and a full clarification of the motive behind the confrontation is expected. Sinjali will provide detailed information as it becomes available.
