Kosovo Police Prevent Smuggling Attempt, Seize Goods Worth €8,500

Kosovo Police have announced the prevention of a smuggling attempt in the village of Korminjan, near Ranillug.

According to the police report, the Kosovo Police, in collaboration with Kosovo Customs, intensified tactical and operational controls in the border area between Kosovo and Serbia. On December 4, 2024, after receiving intelligence from official police sources, they stopped a tractor with an improvised trailer driven by a male suspect, a citizen of Serbia, in the village of Korminjan.

The trailer was found to contain:

Packaged tobacco (Marlboro, Winston, Camel, Lucky Strike), weighing approximately 250 kg of processed tobacco
50 boxes of Trokadero slim cigarettes
50 boxes of King cigarettes (red)
50 boxes of Korset cigarettes (blue)
50 boxes of Trokadero cigarettes
The market value of the seized goods is estimated at around €8,500, with an estimated tax and excise duty evasion of approximately €13,000.

All actions were carried out in cooperation with the State Prosecutor’s Office. The goods and the vehicle have been sent to the customs terminal, while the case is being processed by the appropriate police units.
