The Kosovo Police have discovered and seized approximately 140 kilograms of explosives in an abandoned house in the village of Jaglenicë, located in the Zubin Potok area of northern Kosovo.
Deputy Director of Police for the Northern Region, Veton Elshani, told KosovaPress that the explosives were found during a routine patrol after police received credible information suggesting illegal materials were present at the location.
“The 140 kilograms were stored in an abandoned house that is uninhabitable. During routine patrol, our units received information about potential illegal activity and found this large amount of explosives,” said Elshani.
Elshani emphasized that authorities cannot yet confirm a connection between this case and other incidents, including the earlier case in Banjskë, as investigations are still ongoing.
He also stressed that over 90% of police interventions are based on reliable intelligence, and officers do not act without justification.
No further details regarding suspects or intended use of the explosives were released.
