The Kosovo Police have successfully carried out an international extradition and an additional arrest within the country as part of efforts to combat international organized crime.
“On 10 February 2026, in full coordination with the German authorities, a Kosovo citizen wanted under an international arrest warrant was extradited from Germany to Kosovo,” the police announced, as reported by IndeksOnline.
The extradited individual is suspected of serious criminal offenses and of evading justice.
“The extradition was carried out thanks to close inter-institutional cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and Germany. Upon arrival in Kosovo, the suspect was handed over to the relevant police units for further legal procedures,” the statement said.
On the same day, the Kosovo Police also arrested another foreign national within the country who was internationally wanted.
“The arrest was carried out based on an international arrest warrant issued by several European Union member states. The suspect is linked to suspicions of involvement in organized crime activities,” the police added.
By decision of the competent prosecutor, both suspects have been placed in 48-hour detention.
The Kosovo Police reaffirm their commitment to law enforcement and to respecting domestic and international legal procedures.
