The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kosovo has commenced training for over 15,000 polling officers across 38 municipalities in preparation for the upcoming local elections on October 12, 2025.
The CEC stated that members of the Polling Station Councils are being trained on their roles and responsibilities during the election process.
“Voting and counting procedures at polling stations, procedures for persons with special needs, and conditional voting processes are the key areas of focus for the training program,” the CEC said.
According to the Law on General Elections, the Polling Station Council is responsible for ensuring integrity, security, and order during the voting and counting process, under the direct supervision of the Municipal Election Commission.
Polling Council Appointments
At the end of September, the CEC appointed members of the regular and conditional polling stations, as well as reserve members, who will participate on election day, Sunday, October 12.
A total of 14,305 members were appointed to 2,571 regular polling stations and 54 conditional polling stations, with an additional 1,200 reserve members.
The CEC confirmed that the election process will take place in 948 Voting Centers, comprising 2,625 polling stations:
- 910 centers with 2,571 regular polling stations
- 38 centers, one per municipality, with 54 conditional polling stations to facilitate conditional voting.
