Richard Grenell, former U.S. President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy for Missions, held a meeting yesterday with leaders from the Western Balkans. The Presidency of Kosovo has provided clarifications regarding the purpose of the meeting and the topics discussed.

According to Bekim Kupina, Media Advisor at the Presidency, the invitation was for a roundtable titled “US–Western Balkans Roundtable”, organized by three representatives from the Trump administration: Richard Grenell, Presidential Special Envoy; Scot Bessent, Secretary of State for Treasury; and John Jovanovich, President of EXIM Bank.

The meeting included representatives from six Western Balkan states, as well as Croatia. President Vjosa Osmani joined the discussion in the second part of the meeting due to other bilateral engagements.

Kupina emphasized to Telegrafi that no political discussions took place during the roundtable.

The President joined in the second part of the meeting because of other bilateral commitments. Each country presented its economic potential as an opportunity for collaboration with the Trump administration. There were no political discussions,” Kupina stated.

The meeting focused solely on economic cooperation and regional development opportunities.
