On the occasion of International Children’s Day, President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani emphasized the importance of ensuring a dignified life, quality education, and protection for all children, stating that the future of society is measured by how it treats its youngest members.
“Our future as a society is reflected in the way we treat our children,” Osmani said during a special event held in honor of the day. “That means more investment in education, stronger protection from violence, better healthcare, and more love and opportunity for every child—so they can dream and fulfill those dreams.”
Investing in Children is a Collective Duty, Says Osmani
The president highlighted quality education, a safe environment, a happy childhood, and dignified living conditions as key foundations for building social stability.
“Caring for children is not just a parental or institutional obligation—it’s a shared responsibility for all citizens and our entire society,” she declared.
Tribute to Ambassador William Walker on His Birthday
During her address, President Osmani also paid tribute to Ambassador William Walker, recalling his efforts to expose the Reçak Massacre to the international community—an action that, she noted, helped save thousands of Albanian children during the Kosovo war.
She extended birthday wishes to Walker, whose birthday coincides with June 1, saying, “Your voice changed the course of history for our children.”
