President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has officially congratulated Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama on his victory in the parliamentary elections. Osmani emphasized that the communication between Kosovo and Albania remains daily and brotherly — or rather, sisterly — reflecting a deep and sincere bond.

“I have congratulated the Prime Minister. We have spoken on the phone; I congratulated him yesterday and today as well. This victory belongs to the citizens of the Republic of Albania,” Osmani told reporters.

She also clarified the institutional practice regarding official congratulatory letters, explaining that such letters are typically sent when the Prime Minister officially takes office after parliamentary approval.

“Usually, we send letters when the mandate is officially assumed and voted on by the Parliament, which I believe will happen very soon. This is a technical and procedural matter,” she stated.

When speaking about Kosovo-Albania relations, Osmani used warm and heartfelt language:

“The relations between our two countries are more than brotherly; they are like the relationship between two sisters. And as you know, relationships between sisters are always better, more sincere, and more supportive than those between brothers.”

Osmani further expressed optimism about Albania’s progress toward European Union integration, calling it a positive omen for the entire region.

“I hope very much that, as announced, Albania will soon advance by opening the third cluster in the EU negotiations. This is a positive signal for our whole region and the European future we all strive for,” she concluded.
