Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti expressed deep shock over the tragic deaths of several individuals, including three Kosovo citizens, in a construction site accident in Vienna, Austria.
“The news of the tragic death of several people in Austria has deeply affected us. According to official information from our Embassy, three of the victims have been identified as citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,” Kurti wrote on his Facebook page.
The Prime Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. “In these difficult moments, I offer my sincerest condolences to the families of the victims and to all those affected by this immense loss,” he added.
Kurti confirmed that the Kosovo government is maintaining close communication with its Embassy in Vienna to provide all necessary support. “The Government of the Republic of Kosovo is in close contact with our Embassy in Vienna to ensure that all necessary assistance is provided,” he stated.
According to the Embassy’s report, the accident occurred in the Alsergrund district during construction work, when part of the structure collapsed, leaving workers trapped under the debris. Emergency services managed to rescue one worker, who sustained serious injuries, while four others were found deceased.
The incident has prompted urgent investigations by Austrian authorities to determine the causes of the collapse and ensure safety measures are enforced.
