The Kosovo Property Comparison and Verification Agency (KPCVA) has firmly rejected claims made by Petar Petković, director of the so-called “Office for Kosovo” in Serbia, who alleged that Serbian families are being evicted from their apartments in northern Kosovo.

In a statement, KPCVA described Petković’s declarations as “entirely false” and “dangerous attempts at politicization and disinformation.”

Earlier this week, Petković wrote on platform X (formerly Twitter) that a Serbian family was being expelled from its apartment by Kosovo authorities. The KPCVA clarified that the case in question involves the property of the Ferki Shipolli family and dates back to 2005, when it was legally verified that the family is the rightful owner.

The agency stated that the return of the property was conducted in accordance with final legal decisions and within the framework of its lawful mandate.

“The Kosovo Property Comparison and Verification Agency (KPCVA) strongly opposes Mr. Petar Petković’s false statements regarding a property case in northern Kosovo. These claims represent dangerous attempts to politicize the issue and mislead the public. The case involving the Ferki Shipolli family was addressed back in 2005, with legal confirmation that they are the rightful owners. KPCVA enforces final decisions issued by legal institutions, strictly within its legal mandate,” the statement reads.

The agency emphasized that property reinstatement is carried out through regular legal procedures and applies to all illegal occupations, regardless of the ethnic background or status of the involved parties.

“Such statements, like those of Mr. Petković, are unacceptable as they fuel tensions and undermine the rule of law and peaceful coexistence. KPCVA remains committed to fair, equal, and lawful implementation of its mandate,” the agency concluded.
