Last week, Kosovo received AeroVironment RQ-20 Puma unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) procured from the United States, announced Acting Minister of Defense Ejup Maqedonci.

Maqedonci explained that the Ministry of Defense acquired the Puma UAVs through the Foreign Military Sale (FMS) program, a government-to-government procurement scheme. The payment for this system was completed in 2021.

He emphasized that the Puma drones, alongside other aerial systems, represent an essential capability for enhancing the Kosovo Security Force’s (KSF) unmanned aerial operations.

The minister also noted that defense cooperation with the United States continues to deepen and expand, contributing not only to the development of Kosovo’s armed forces but also to the achievement of shared interests between the two countries.
