Nikola Vujović has been stripped of his citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo because, by serving as a member of Serbia’s police forces, he endangered Kosovo’s national security, announced acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla.

Sveçla stated that Serbia has employed citizens of Kosovo within its own institutions, an action that undermines national security and aims for destabilization.

“As part of systematic efforts to internally destabilize the Republic of Kosovo, Serbia has employed citizens of the Republic of Kosovo within its security and intelligence institutions, an act contrary to our laws and a violation of our national security. Based on our relevant citizenship legislation, by-laws, and recommendations from relevant institutions, today I decided to revoke Nikola Vujović’s citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo for endangering our national security as a member of Serbia’s police forces,” he announced on Facebook.

Sveçla emphasized that no form of national security compromise will be tolerated.
