Pristina, July 9, 2025 — Team Kosovo has qualified for the Play-offs of the European Esports Championship in Counter Strike following a stunning comeback victory against Denmark, marking a historic achievement in the first edition of the tournament hosted in Kosovo.
Despite losing the first map, De_Train, with a score of 13:9 in favor of the Danish squad Sashi—thanks to strong performances by Lukas “Beccie” Balcells and Philip “Lucky” Ewald, each recording 21 kills—Kosovo rallied back with dominant performances in the next two maps.
On De_Mirage, Flatron “Juanflatroo” Halimi led the charge with 25 eliminations, supported by Genc “gxx-” Kolgeci with 21, securing a 13:10 win for Kosovo.
The decisive third map, De_Ancient, saw Kosovo control the pace and close out the match with another 13:9 victory. “Juanflatroo” once again stood out as the top fragger with 23 kills, cementing his role as the MVP of the match.
With this win, Kosovo earns a place in the Play-offs, where they will face the runner-up of Group B on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Meanwhile, Denmark will play the winner of the Ireland vs. Czech Republic match to determine the second team advancing from Group A.
This marks a significant milestone for Kosovo’s esports scene, showing the country’s growing presence on the European competitive stage.
