Kosovo Seeks U.S. Attention on Albanians in Presheva, Medvegjë, and Bujanoc

Acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo, Kreshnik Ahmeti, met with Lyn Debevoise, Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Europe (SCE) at the U.S. State Department.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Ahmeti was briefed on SCE’s priorities for Kosovo and the region, while highlighting the progress achieved and the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, particularly in diplomacy, the economy, and defense. He also informed Mr. Debevoise about ongoing destabilizing actions by Serbia and the difficult situation faced by Albanians in Presheve, Medvegjë, and Bujanoc.

The meeting emphasized the joint commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the United States of America.

Both Deputy Minister Ahmeti and Deputy Assistant Secretary Debevoise reaffirmed that Kosovo and the U.S. share common priorities in strengthening regional stability, promoting democratic values, and deepening mutual understanding, grounded in the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.
