Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, announced the dispatch of a humanitarian shipment to the people of Gaza.
The aid, valued at €500,000, includes tents, food packages, blankets, and 158,000 hot meal rations for residents in need.
“We just received notification that the ship carrying humanitarian aid from the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, dedicated to the people of Gaza, has departed from the port of Mersin in Turkey. Our humanitarian shipment, valued at €500,000, includes tents, food packages, blankets, and 158,000 hot meal rations for the residents in need,” Kurti wrote on Facebook.
He emphasized that, although the decision to provide this aid was made back in January, its implementation became possible only after the latest peace agreement, achieved under the leadership of U.S. President Donald Trump.
“This humanitarian aid represents the commitment of the Republic of Kosovo as part of international solidarity and our dedication to supporting the civilian population facing extreme hardships in Gaza. We are proud to be the first government of the Republic of Kosovo to provide such support for the residents of Gaza. We hope it contributes, even modestly, to alleviating suffering and supporting peace, security, and stability for all,” Kurti added.
He also thanked the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Red Crescent for their cooperation and assistance in carrying out this humanitarian operation.
