Former Swedish Prime Minister and prominent European diplomat Carl Bildt has commented on the recently resumed Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, which took place on Tuesday in Brussels under the mediation of Peter Sørensen, the EU’s newly appointed special representative for the process.
In a post on social media, Bildt acknowledged the restart of the dialogue under Sørensen’s leadership but urged caution against overly optimistic expectations at this early stage.
“I think expectations for major progress should be kept within limits for the time being,” Bildt wrote, emphasizing that this is just the beginning of Sørensen’s work on the issue.
Sørensen held his first official meeting with delegations from both Kosovo and Serbia, aiming to revive stalled negotiations. In the coming weeks, he is expected to continue efforts toward unblocking the dialogue and finding common ground between the two sides.
