Ardian Gola, First Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, met today with a delegation from the European Union, highlighting Kosovo’s commitment to minority rights and institutional development.

The EU delegation included Zuzana Michalcová Šutiaková, Head of the Western Balkans Unit at the EEAS, along with representatives from the EU Office in Kosovo: Eva Palatova, Blerta Bejtullahu, and Felix Rathje.

During the meeting, discussions focused on recent institutional developments, the constitution of the 10th legislature of the Assembly, and the pace of decision-making in the first weeks of work.

Deputy Speaker Gola emphasized that Kosovo’s institutions are fully functional and committed to a clear reform agenda and European integration. Among the early achievements of this legislature, the Assembly approved the EU Growth Plan Agreement, from which Kosovo will receive €882.6 million, reflecting the country’s steadfast European orientation and readiness to implement concrete reforms.

Other key milestones highlighted included agreements with the World Bank totaling €120 million and the approval of the 2026 budget of €4 billion, the largest in Kosovo’s history.

The discussion also focused on the role of non-majority communities in the Assembly and their active participation in institutional life. Gola underscored that Kosovo has established an advanced model for guaranteeing minority rights, placing it among the countries with the highest European standards in this regard.

Finally, Gola expressed gratitude for the EU’s support during last year’s political crisis and reaffirmed Kosovo’s commitment to deepening cooperation and advancing reforms toward European Union integration.
