A 17-year-old male from Kosovo was injured during his arrest after allegedly attacking a teacher with a knife at a vocational college in Essen, Germany on Friday morning. Details about his current condition remain unclear.

According to police reports, the teen allegedly stabbed the 45-year-old female teacher multiple times, seriously injuring her. Emergency personnel treated her on the scene before transporting her to a hospital, where she is now in stable condition.

After the attack, the suspect fled to a park near the main train station, where he ran toward police officers wielding a knife, prompting special forces to open fire. Police confirmed that the teen suffered life-threatening injuries during the arrest.

Authorities have not disclosed further details about his health. A police spokesperson confirmed that the suspect is a student at the vocational college where the incident took place.
