Kosovo to Boost Regional Stability with New Ammunition Factory, Defense Minister Declares After Meeting with Turkish Counterpart

Kosovo’s acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, announced today that his meeting with Turkish counterpart Yaşar Güler focused on strengthening defense cooperation, with a particular emphasis on Kosovo’s future strategic role in the region following the operationalization of its new ammunition factory.

Ammunition Factory to Enhance KSF Capabilities and Regional Stability

In a Facebook post, Maqedonci highlighted that the ammunition factory project will significantly boost the capabilities of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), enable logistical self-sufficiency, and contribute to the overall stability of the region. He emphasized that by strengthening its defense structures, Kosovo will be better positioned to contribute to regional security and promote peace and stability.

“Today I had the honor to meet with Minister Yaşar Güler, a productive meeting where we discussed the current geopolitical situation, the advancement of the Kosovo Security Force, and I emphasized the importance of the support we are receiving from Turkey,” Maqedonci wrote. “The conversation with Minister Güler was extremely positive as we explored new cooperation opportunities aimed at building new capacities for the Kosovo army.”

He further underscored the importance of cooperation between the two nations, noting that their relations are essential for regional stability and security. Both ministers agreed to continue their cooperation as a key, strategic element for the region’s security.
