Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced that starting November, Kosovo will increase pensions and child allowances as part of social welfare improvements.
The minimum pension will rise from €120 to €150, benefiting around 200,000 pensioners. Additionally, allowances for children aged 0–16 years will increase by 50%, affecting approximately 400,000 children. For example, a parent currently receiving €40 for two children will see the amount rise to €60.
Kurti emphasized that the decision takes immediate effect from November 1 and comes shortly before the upcoming runoff elections, reflecting the government’s commitment to social support and family welfare.
