The Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, met today with members of the UK Labour Friends of Kosovo group, including MPs Emma Lewell-Buck, Fabian Hamilton, Paul Foster, and David Taylor. The discussions focused on bilateral relations between Kosovo and the United Kingdom, their excellent and friendly ties, and the need to deepen cooperation in all areas, according to a press release from the Assembly.
Konjufca expressed gratitude to the guests for their visit and acknowledged the UK’s invaluable contributions to Kosovo, both historically and presently. He emphasized that the friendship between the two countries is grounded in shared history, values, interests, and goals.
He also briefed the MPs on current issues, highlighting that collaboration with the UK in various fields, including security, serves as a guarantee for Kosovo’s development and safety, as well as for regional stability in a sensitive period following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and its interventions in the region through allied states.
The Labour MPs thanked Speaker Konjufca for the warm reception and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two nations. They reiterated that the UK’s support for Kosovo, as in the past, will remain steadfast and enduring.
