Kosovo Forces (KF) are currently undergoing intensive joint training with US soldiers at Fort Johnson, Louisiana, as part of the large-scale Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) 25-08 exercise, enhancing their capabilities for major combat operations. This significant deployment highlights the deepening partnership between Kosovo and the United States.

Participating alongside over 4,000 Iowa National Guard soldiers and approximately 2,000 other US and allied personnel, the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) are engaged in a realistic training environment designed to prepare for high-level threats. The exercise rigorously tests the readiness of participants to confront peer adversaries.

“The 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the 34th Infantry Division from the Iowa Army National Guard is currently conducting a rigorous exercise at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) in Fort Johnson, Louisiana,” states an official release. “This exercise provides a difficult and realistic environment to evaluate the brigade’s ability to deploy, fight, and win against a peer adversary threat.”

The comprehensive training scenario involves various units, including combat, logistics, medical, engineering, and aviation, operating within a large-scale warfare environment. The inclusion of partners like the Kosovo Security Forces, through the State Partnership Program, helps create a dynamic and inclusive training atmosphere.

The exercise aims to test readiness and effectiveness across diverse military functions. For continuous updates on JRTC 25-08, interested parties are directed to follow the 135th MPAD, 734th Regional Support Group, and the 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the 34th Infantry Division.
