Kosovo–USA: A New Chapter Opens in Defense and Security – Maqedonci and Jashari at the Pentagon

Kosovo’s Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, during an official visit to the United States, held a high-level meeting at the U.S. Department of Defense, marking the opening of a new chapter in defense and security cooperation between the two countries.

Accompanied by the Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, the Kosovar delegation was received by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for NATO and Europe, Mr. David Baker, and his team.

“In this challenging period for regional and international peace and security, we reaffirmed our commitment to successfully completing the third phase of the KSF Comprehensive Transition Plan,” emphasized Minister Maqedonci.

The meeting addressed bilateral cooperation priorities, the strategic security environment in the Western Balkans and beyond, and steps toward developing Kosovo’s defense industry through joint programs and projects with the United States.

Minister Maqedonci praised the United States’ key role in building the defense capacities of the Republic of Kosovo, describing the U.S. as the country’s most important strategic partner.
