The upcoming “Paris 2024” marks the third occasion that Kosovo will participate in the Summer Olympic Games. In a remarkably short span of time, this young nation has achieved an impressive tally of five Olympic medals, which includes three golds, one silver, and one bronze. This achievement underscores Kosovo’s growing presence in the international sports arena and highlights the dedication and talent of its athletes.

Across the globe, there are 106 countries that have yet to secure a gold medal in the Summer Olympics, with 69 of those nations not having won any medals at all. In Europe, several countries, including Albania, Bosnia, Andorra, Malta, Liechtenstein, and Monaco, have not claimed any Olympic golds. Additionally, nations such as Iceland, Cyprus, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Moldova, and San Marino have never won a gold medal in their Olympic history, showcasing the competitive nature of the Games.

Monaco has participated in the Olympics 21 times, while Liechtenstein has 19 appearances, Malta 17, Andorra 12, Albania 9, and Bosnia 8, all without achieving a victory. In contrast, Kosovo has made a remarkable impact by securing five podium finishes in just its third Olympic participation. Following the success of Distria Krasniqi, who earned a silver medal in the under-52 kg category, and Laura Fazliu, who claimed bronze in the under-63 kg category, the spotlight now turns to Loriana Kuka. She is set to compete on August 1 in the under-78 kg category, further contributing to Kosovo’s Olympic journey.
